Happy Mothers’ Day
This weekend many of us will visit our Moms, if we live near enough. Or send cards or gifts, and maybe speak by phone. Whatever you’re doing to honor and celebrate your own motherhood (if you’re a Mom), or that of your fore-mothers, remember to take time to think about the qualities that make us want to thank our mothers, and to honor all those who have taken the time and care to love other humans to life.
Those qualities are all about unconditional love, caring, nurturing, and accepting us for just who we are (even when we aren’t actually very worthy of it, sometimes.) Remember that old saying, “a face only a mother could love”? Well, there’s more than a little truth to that! And I’d add Grandmothers into this, too — sometimes it’s our grandmothers who show us the way, when our own mothers are too busy with the other kids or household chores.
So thank you to all the mothers who have taken on the role of motherhood. And thanks, too, to all the “dog and cat moms” (and dads) out there who are taking good care of our furry friends.

If you want to do something really nice for the women in your life (especially the Moms) give them flower essences — or better yet, a gift certificate for their own custom blended formula. They will thank you for being so thoughtful of their needs.
I hope your day is lovely, and that you know and feel loved and appreciated for who you are, not only for what you do. Happy Mothers’ Day!

For as long as I can remember, and my memory goes back a long ways….I have always looked forward to Mother’s Day. When I was in school, I made cards, gifts, etc for my Mother. My Mother always made me feel that those childish gifts were greatly appreciated. As the years went by, those gifts were still cherished. My Mother always was there to listen to me tell her of my day at school. My triumphs and challenges. Her love for me never wavered. To her final day, she was always my Mom and I knew I was loved. Do I miss her? More each passing day. I cherish the times we shared. I give thanks each day for her life, her devotion to her family and to the Lord.
Of course, my sweetheart, my wife, and Mother of our kids is most cherished and grateful for. She is a great Mom and devoted to her kids, no matter what, no questions asked. She is an angel and thier protector no matter what thier age might be. Her capacity to love seems to have no bounds. Her faith seems to grow with each passing day, despite her handicap of ME! I am most grateful for her patience and endurance.
In my opinion, Mothers and the closest us fellows can get to God in this life. If we were just smart enough to recognize thier proximity, we would be so much better off. Thanks for the opportunity.
