I love the holiday time, when everything slows way down (either because the weather forces changes of plans, or because one chooses to follow the natural rhythms of Nature.)

And here for the holiday season is Poinsettia:

While I haven’t seen many flower essences made from Poinsettia, I have to wonder if there are some I just haven’t located yet.  I’ll be on a search to see what I can find, and how they are used.

Meanwhile, I wish you and all your family a happy and joyous holiday (whichever one you celebrate) ~ and urge you to take some time to be out in Nature’s glory during the holidays.  Breathe the cold air, feast your eyes on some of the amazing patterns that Nature shows us, and be inspired by the beauty all around you.

I was intrigued and thrilled, then, to learn recently that Perelandra has a new essence;  Essence of Perelandra.  Well, you know I just HAD to get that and try it myself!  Here’s my reaction in one word:  WOW!  This stuff is amazing!  Let me tell you my experience with it.

This Thanksgiving I looked through my repertory (which is growing every week, it seems ~ I now have more than 1200 individual flowers in stock) to see if there are flowers that really help people get more in touch with feelings of gratitude — especially if they are having a hard time finding things for which to actually BE grateful.

Very quickly one of my favorite little flowers popped right into mind.  She’s the delicious Pink Water Lily!

Pink Water Lily is a flower I turn to when a person really has forgotten how to simply BE with things.  It shows up in more formulas than I originally thought it might, because of how powerful an ally it is when we want to find ways to reconnect to our gratitude ~ and remember that there really ARE so many blessings we have, if we would only stop focusing on what we don’t have and think we should.

Now if I were to make a Thanksgiving combination formula, I might also add a little Borage, which is bright blue and overcomes just about everything.  It’s a fragile little flower but tough, and it reminds us how to weather all storms and be strong in who we are.

Together, the colors of the flowers blend to a purple vibration, which is very spiritual.  Just the thing to help us remember where to turn when we need help ~ and Whom to thank for every good thing.

Oh and how could I forget Zinnia?  She helps us remember how to be joyful!  That is a very important ally for gratitude, after all; it’s hard to be grateful and sad at the same time. . . which is one reason why psychologists have their depressed clients keep a daily gratitude journal.

And finally, I’d add one of the new flowers from our Italian Alpine Collection:  Fleur de Soleil.  This sweet little flower carries the energy of the Sun, which shines equally on all Life ~ helping us remember that we are connected to something greater and warmer than what we may experience in the moment.

Today, while the youngsters are out Trick or Treating, let’s take a look at the main flower that deals with fears:  Mimulus.

Now, if you know me, you know I am very good in the abstract world, dancing with flowers and such.  But I am terrible wth technical things!  So when I tell you that I’m actually having fun doing this. . . well, I’m not sure you’d believe me.  But I am!

Today I recorded my first audio into the laptop computer, and as soon as I get a little music added and get it edited, I will upload it here to the blog.  This one is kind of a Welcome to Dances With Flowers audio message, more for practice than anything. But it orients a first-time visitor about where to find things and how to easily navigate the blog.

I will be eager to hear what you think of it, and if you like it.

Next up?  The far more challenging video recordings!  But those are the ones I really want to do, to show you visually all the things you need to know about flower essences, and why they work.

Stay tuned ~ and do let me know if there are specific things you’d like to learn.  If I can do it, I will make some videos of them.  But don’t expect too much!  I’m not sure I can live with that kind of pressure, hehehe.

The videos are NOT going to be Walt Disney movies, that’s for sure.  But hopefully they will get the message across clearly.  If I can do that, I will be happy

So before anyone gets upset about that, let me explain why.  (And yes, I am a strong advocate of organic, green, sustainable living!)

My answer has to do with how flower essences are made.  To understand this process completely, let me walk you through the process.

• Permission is requested from a specific flower whether or not an essence may be made from it.  If permission is granted, it means that the blossom will be plucked from the stalk.  So the plant is sacrificing something.  It’s best to ask permission before doing that.
• Once permission is granted, the blossom is carefully removed from the plant without touching it with one’s own hand or any body part.  Usually this is done using a stainless steel or wooden utensil.
• The blossom is placed into a glass bowl of clear spring water, where it is infused by the sunlight in the early morning hours.  This transfer process usually takes from 2-3 hours.
• When the transfer of the energetic pattern from the blossom is complete, the flower is removed completely from the bowl of water, again using a stainless steel or wooden utensil.  There is NO actual plant part remaining in the water.
• The water now contains the vibrational essence of that flower.
• The water is poured into an amber glass container for safekeeping, usually with a preservative (brandy or white vinegar.)  This water is called the “mother essence” from which dosage bottles are prepared.

Given that there are NO actual plant parts in a flower essence, and given that even if a pesticide had been used on the plant during its growing cycle, no pesticide gets inside the plant’s DNA or its electrical pattern ~ and THIS (the flower’s electrical pattern) is the only thing that gets transferred.  Not one shred of its chemical or physical properties.  Only the electrical pattern.

(You do know that water conducts electricity, don’t you?  That is the scientific principle behind why and how flower essences work.  Remember that when you take your flower remedies!  The plant patterns are helping you remember your own ~ or helping you to create new ones.)

As a point of interest, however, you may like to know that of my three main suppliers, most of the flowers are grown either in a biodynamic garden, or wildcrafted.

For instance, my newest flower essences were respectfully harvested from the wild natural meadows and rocks of the Italian Alps.  You cannot GET more natural than that!

I hope that this answers the question about whether there were pesticides used in any of the flowers from which essences were made ~ as well as to offer greater understanding about what flower essences actually ARE.

Italian Alpine Springs

I mean, if you are a company whose business is (in part) making flower essences, wouldn’t YOU love to have a flower essence made from a flower whose name is the same as your company?  And no, I didn’t even know about that flower when I named the company ~ so it wasn’t deliberate.  To my way of thinking, that just makes it even more awesome.
